About

I’m Pilar

Pilar (They/Them) grew up in Atlanta, Georgia with a deep love for the arts. After studying and honing their craft as a performer in Georgia, Florida, and Germany, Pilar moved to New York City to pursue a career in musical theatre. It was in Pilar's third year in New York City they realized it was time to start building their own table, instead of trying to find a seat at the old one.

During the Covid lockdown in 2020, Pilar began falling in love with screenwriting and focusing on fusing their love of politics and art. Using the power of storytelling, Pilar hopes to create art that will challenge societal norms and work to break the gatekeeping cycle of who is in front of or behind the camera. Pilar has been staffed on three political ads for a PAC supporting the Joe Biden campaign, on commercials, as well as a feature, a streamed series, and their own independent short films. Pilar is a proud recipient of NALIP’s Emerging Content Creators Scholarship, Sundance Collab scholarship, and has won 8 plus awards for their first project Go Fetch Club, including, “Best First Time Director.” Pilar is the founder of their production company 2Spirit Media LLC.
