I’m Pilar
Pilar (They/Them) is a Telly award winning multi -hyphenate powerhouse actor who will make you laugh before Judo dropping you on your ass.
Growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, Pilar developed a deep love for the arts, sports, and animals. They practiced martial arts for over 10 years and competed on a martial arts fighting team, specializing in weapons such as the bo staff and swords.
Later in life, while attending community college, Pilar took their first acting class and discovered a passion for the creative arts, leading them to pursue acting professionally.
After refining their skills as a musical theater performer in regional theaters in Georgia, as well as at Walt Disney World and in Germany, Pilar decided to further their career in musical theater and film/TV.
Pilar enjoys portraying characters that explore the intersection of complex relationships with the current political climate and art. They have garnered Off-Broadway and international credits, along with a growing indie on-camera resume.
Most recently they played the tough, scrappy lead, Thalia in the comedic horror film, Ghost Jumpers, Directed and written by Valarie Complex.
During the Covid lockdown in 2020, Pilar began falling in love with screenwriting and focusing on fusing their love of politics and art.
Using the power of storytelling, Pilar hopes to create art that will challenge societal norms and work to break the gatekeeping cycle of who is in front of or behind the camera.
Pilar has been staffed on three political ads for a PAC supporting the Joe Biden campaign, on commercials, as well as a feature, a streamed series, and their own independent short films. Pilar is a proud recipient of NALIP’s Emerging Content Creators Scholarship, Sundance Collab scholarship, and has won 8 plus awards for their first project Go Fetch Club, including, “Best First Time Director.” Pilar’s newest film, The Pincher won a Telly Award at the 46th annual Telly Awards.
Pilar is the founder of their production company 2Spirit Media LLC. 2spirit Media aims to humanize our QTBIPOC stories, ensuring we hold leadership positions both on and off set.
